Well, September has arrived! Seems like the summer flew past right? We had a blast and I will be posting some of the fun stuff we did but first I had to post about our exciting week!
This week was Brendan's first day of 2nd grade (what???) and Carter started Kindergarten!! So so fun! We really are looking forward to what the next school year holds. The boy's new school is really nice and all the staff is so friendly and warm. The school is huge and clean and very bright and cheerful. Brendan's old school was okay but seemed kind of dark compared to the our new one. I think the staff is much more helpful and kind.
Carter only went one day this week as they are slowly putting together the Kindergarten classes and getting all the little guys and gals used to school. It is full time K which is new for this year. I'm really praying a lot that Carter will have the stamina to last all day. He can get pretty worn out being more introverted (like his momma). A lot of growing and stretching will definitely be happening in the next 9 months. Can't wait to look back and be amazed! Because of the long days we will be keeping life very simple in the evenings for Carter. I know he is going to need space to recharge and unwind. Being busy in the evenings isn't going to be good for him this year.
Most moms I know are really sad on their kids first day of Kindergarten. I saw lots of posts about teary goodbyes. I myself didn't really feel sad. Oh yes, its a very big step and its crazy to think about the little babies now going to school! But I am mostly excited for him! I am also looking forward to him learning new things and maturing emotionally. yes, I will definitely miss my little buddy Carter during the day. He is a pretty cool dude and I know he will be a great friend and student!
Brendan is SO excited for school. He has always been a big fan of school which is pretty awesome. He loves to learn and loves to be around people. I don't think I've ever taken him to school with anything less than a smile on his face and a skip in his step. I really hope that he never ever loses it! He wasn't nervous at all about a new school. At the meet your teacher night we saw a booth for Cub Scouts and we might be considering that for Brendan this year. He can never have too much to do that crazy kid! I'm exhausted just thinking about it!
Anyways, enough blabbing and on to some pretty sweet pictures :)
