That one time we paid $20 for a family photo session.....

Even though Charlie is an amazing photographer (check out his stuff at Charlie Boucher Photography) taking family photos is always a little tricky. The kids are so used to him taking pictures and are pretty sick of it most of the time so they just tune him out. Also trying to pose and have him set the timer and run to get in the pictures can be a little stressful. We would love to have a photographer take our pictures but really can't afford it. So when I saw a groupon for $20 for a family session plus a print package I was all over it. I didn't have super high hopes but figured if we only got one good shot it would be worth it. I was hoping for more spontaneous less posed photos because those are the ones we can't get with Charlie behind the camera.

The day of the shoot was a toasty one! When we drove to the location we realized that the parking lot was full at the park and we had to park about 1/2 mile away and walk :( That was no fun at all. The boys were not happy about it and of course I wore some fancy uncomfortable shoes (which you don't see in the pictures anyway ha!) Carter fell down the hill during our walk and skinned his knees and pretty much cried the whole way. We pushed through and made it to the meeting spot all in one piece!

The photographer was sweet and outgoing and great with the boys. She made them laugh and relax and did a great job. The photos aren't the best but there were a few keepers. :) We were only able to order one pose for the print package (extra packages cost a lot!!) so we didn't get prints of all the good ones. But it was definitely a session to remember.  And a good reminder that you get what you pay for :)

And the final verdict is......

Its a Keeper!!!!! :)
