VBS

Every summer the boys look forward to VBS! This year we had to find some new ones closer to our new home to save on gas and time. I had lofty plans to have them in a VBS about every other week or so but we ended up only doing 2 the whole summer. Other plans came up and we had a visit from Charlie's parents plus I had a lot of problems with this....

Falling asleep on the way to pick up
Ethan is still so dependent on that middle of the day nap and pretty much every day he'd fall asleep on the drive to pick up. Unfortunately I had to wake him up to get Brendan and Carter and he would not go back to sleep. Made our afternoons pretty rough. Hopefully next year will be better! Maybe if we get him potty trained he can go to a few too!

There was a tiny little church that we tried out the first week and they were so great there. So kind and welcoming. Brendan and Carter had a blast! They learned about a different country each day and had a snack and craft relating to that specific country. So neat! On the last day they planned a "flash mob" outside the church. It wasn't that big but I could tell the kids really worked hard on it! Carter was totally into it and Brendan, meh, not so much but thats pretty typical. Carter is our music loving dancing guy!

Ethan definitely enjoyed some mommy one on one time :)

A couple weeks later we did another VBS this time with some good friends of ours. This one was a big hit! They learned about some of the Kings and Queens (Esther) in the Bible and it was so neat to hear them talk about Jesus, the King of Kings. The Sunday at the end of the week the church put on a really great performance and the kids sang lots of fun songs. They had a BBQ lunch too! This was a popular one so definitely keeping it on our list for next year!
