After a busy morning in at the "spit" we enjoyed relaxing in the sunshine and just playing around. Did I mention how much we prayed for sun on our vacation?? I don't know what we would do if we were stuck in the house with 7 kids, 5 of them highly energetic boys! So we were so so thankful for all the gorgeous weather so the kids could play outside!
In small towns like Homer, holidays are a whole town affair. We took a walk down to main street to enjoy the local Independence Day parade. Saw a lot of interested characters and the kids collected their fair share of goodies.

After such a special treat it was hard to draw ourselves away but we had a long walk ahead of us and some tired kids so it was time to go. No fireworks are allowed and it doesn't get dark til 2 in the morning so this was a very different 4th of July for us. Can't say that we really missed the fireworks that go on and on all night long! It was nice to crawl into bed and get right to sleep.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!
