One last summer hurrah!

Every year its the same thing....school gets out mid-June, summer weather arrives mid July, kids start back to school in September and public pools close, but summer sticks around for a few more weeks. I think that we should adjust our schedules accordingly don't you? Shift it all a few weeks later so that kids (and parents) can enjoy a little more sunshine here in the PNW!

Even though Alderbrook normally closes down most of the park after Labor Day weekend, they made the smart decision (in my opinion) to stay open one extra week because we still had temperatures in the high 80s. Most of that week we couldn't make it but Thursday, one day before the last day, I decided to take the boys out for one last summer hurrah. Charlie was busy and probably working late so I definitely didn't want to sit around in the hot house trying to entertain the kids so it seemed to be the perfect plan. I tried to invite some friends but it didn't work out for them to join me. No worries! I don't mind going on my own. I made sure both Carter and Ethan took good naps and we picked up Brendan straight from school and headed out for some fun. Brendan didn't know about it so he was surprised which is always fun.

The park was practically empty and it was so peaceful. We grabbed some cheap hot dogs and drinks and went to the pool first. The boys had it all to themselves and had a great time! We wanted to do a little jumping in the bounce houses before heading home too. After that we grabbed some ice cold smoothies and we were on our way home. A great way to end the "summer" I love my boys and each summer just gets better and better!

Where is everybody??

Too small for the bouncy house but happy to hang out with mommy while brothers play.
