Growing up I (Megan) spent many Thanksgivings at a place in Oregon called
Christian Renewal Center (CRC for short). A wonderful place for families to spend time hearing the Word and making new friends. We have tried a few times to go there over Thanksgiving but with Charlie's work schedule its hard to get away for the whole weekend. So we decided to make it a tradition to spend a week at family camp but thought this year it would be good start out with something a little shorter just to see how it goes. We thought Labor Day weekend would be perfect! A nice long weekend before the craziness of school and fall fun started. So we packed up and headed south...not really sure what to expect but excited for what God would do.

Brendan and Carter ready for a weekend of fun! |
 |
Little Ethan ready to explore! |
The first thing we did was check out the playground. This playground has been around for many many years and a lot of it is still the same structures my brothers and I played on as little kids. Pretty neat! We would end up spending most of our free time at the playground!

Ethan LOVED the "choo choo" |
After getting all settled in our room we still had quite a bit of free time before dinner so we explored a little more.

Tossing some rocks over a cliff. Yes, they are all boy. |

Throwing rocks into a pond. Hours of entertainment! |

The Boucher Bunch! |
After a late dinner Charlie took Ethan and Carter to the room for a much needed bedtime while Brendan and mommy went to the evening service. The weekends guest speakers were an awesome pastor/wife team speaking about forgiveness. A very much needed topic any time in your life but for us currently it was especially important and we learned a lot over the weekend!
The next day we were up early for breakfast and excited for full day of fun! After breakfast there was more worship/teaching for the adults and class time for the kids.

Ethan wasn't too thrilled about meal times...except breakfast! Fun times with a picky toddler! |
The first afternoon we were there they had a family scavenger hunt right after lunch. Ethan was pretty worn out and didn't even stay awake for lunch so Charlie took Brendan and Carter to try out the scavenger hunt. They had a great time! Here are some pictures they had to take for the game.

After the scavenger hunt we had some more free time before dinner and the evening session. The boys got to ride the big swings, zipline, and try their hand at archery! This was the highlight of the weekend for sure!
We had a great time! Not sure if we are ready for a whole week quite yet. We'll have to see what the next year brings but we are definitely looking forward to our next adventure there sometime soon! If you are looking for a family friendly place to grow in your faith and meet other great families check out all the events that you can attend at
Christian Renewal Center!
I am so glad Randy and I and the boys came to have dinner and hang out with you. We really enjoyed our time watching the boys at archery. Dinner was delicious and the speaker was very good. A real bonus was James playing the piano with Tim leading on guitar, his life time dream. WOW!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to have you there too! I told Charlie afterwards we should have got some family shots with you guys. Next year! The kids had a blast and can't wait to go back!
