Beautiful Things

All this pain
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
I wonder if my life could really change at all
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found
Could a garden come up from this ground at all

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground
Out of chaos life is being found in You

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us

I don't know if you've ever heard this song but it is one of my favorite worship songs. I can't sing it or hear it without feeling it way down deep in my heart. God truly makes beautiful things out of the darkest, ugliest time in our lives.

The last 7+ years since my parents divorce have been really crazy. Lots of ups and downs, relationships started and ended. My mom has been so faithful to God and trusted Him always. There were so many times that we just wondered if she would ever meet a man that she could be with and love for the rest of her life. But she never gave up her trust in God and last August everything in her life changed. She met Randy, a recent widower with 4 grown children, at Heart Change (workshops where you experience the heart of God and work through pain and wounds in your life). They dated, fell in love, and on June 16th were married in a beautiful simple wedding. I couldn't be happier for her. My heart is just so happy to see her finally blossom in love. She has grown so much on this journey and is truly beautiful inside and out. I'm so glad that she can share her love and faith in God with such a great man like Randy.

Randy and his children lost a wonderful women when his wife passed away last May from cancer. I know that that pain is something that I can never understand. I can't imagine losing my mom. No one should have to go through that. We are continuing to pray that God will give comfort and new joy through that pain.  I know it will probably be a long journey but I hope that we can all do it together with lots of love and faith and hope.
