Skate Night

Every month Brendan's school has a skate night at a local roller skating rink just for his school. They pick different nights every month but up until this month the nights they picked just didn't work for us. Brendan was always really bummed when we couldn't go so after we missed the January night I promised him that we would go to the next one. Luckily enough the next night worked just fine with our schedule. Brendan was so excited!! I have to admit I was a bit nervous. We have never taken the boys roller skating so I wasn't sure how it was going to go. But we had no reason to worry. One of his buddies from school was there and Brendan just started going! They had walker type things for the kids to hold onto if they wanted a little extra support. We got one and that really helped Carter out. In the beginning before it got too busy I walked around on the rink with Ethan in the little stroller. He got tired of that pretty quickly but once they turned on the music and disco lights he was one happy guy. Toward the end of the night we put him back in the stroller and he actually was so tired he fell asleep being pushed around by Charlie. We all had a great family night out and it was fun to meet some of the other families from Brendan's school and see him interact with his friends.

(a few photos. Bad lighting and on the move kiddos didn't make for many good ones)

Bribed him with promises of candy. Only way I got him to stand still

Couldn't get a picture of Carter skating but he had a lot of fun too!

Ethan LOVED watching all the people skating and the lights and music

Go Brendan go!
We are looking forward to the next skate night! Maybe next time I'll strap on some skates and show off my moves. Watch out world!
