Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Mine started out rough but ended better so thats a good thing. Actually, my weekend hasn't completely ended yet. Charlie has Sundays and Mondays off so technically its still our weekend. We love our Mondays together! I love that I can run errands and make appts that include Charlie or sometimes on my own. Before Brendan started school it was the perfect family day for us. Places are less busy on Mondays and it just feels like we're getting an "extra" day off. Even though we aren't. I have to be honest and say that Saturdays are rough around here sometimes. Most of my friends are busy with their families and a lot of special events are planned on Saturdays so it can get a little lonely having Charlie work and he misses out on a lot of fun stuff. I'm trying to work on my attitude but man, its hard! I want him home all 3 days! But once Monday comes around I'm happy to have him home with us.

Here is a recap of what I did and didn't get done this weekend!

FRIDAY:

-Mommy Night Out! This was the big bummer of the weekend plans. Charlie discovered our toilet was leaking pretty badly and as he was examining it realized that it was completely coming off the floor. Not a good thing. One of those things that needs to be fixed ASAP. He discovered this around 5 pm as I was getting dinner on the table. My plan was to get dinner on the table for everyone and jump in the shower and get all prettied up for my night out. Well, Charlie had to go to the store to get parts to fix the toilet and by the time he got back it was past 6 and I hadn't been able to start to get ready. With all the stress in the house I didn't feel like it was a good time to just head out and leave Charlie with the broken toilet and 3 kids that needed to be put in bed. This was not a good night. I was really not happy about the situation. But it is what it is. And we move on...

SATURDAY:

- Try to survive all day with boys: Done! After the disaster of a night the night before Charlie decided to stay home. He wanted to be around to watch the toilet to make sure it was really fixed, and I think he felt really bad and wanted to give me a break today. Thanks honey!
- Organize game closet. I did it! We had soooo many games we forgot we had, most of which we are going to try to sell on Amazon for a little extra cash. Its nice to open the closet and not have all the games fall out all over the hallway. Now we'll see how long this lasts.
- As an added bonus to having Charlie home we decided to spend some time with some friends that we don't see often. We couldn't decide what to do, with limited funds and 5 kids between our families. So we went the easy route and just invited them over for a casual easy lunch. It was so fun and its rare for us to be spontaneous like that but we really enjoyed it.

SUNDAY:

- Teach 2 year olds at church We actually got reassigned to the baby room this weekend! Yay! We like the babies. It was a busy morning with 6 little ones but we really enjoyed it.
- Relax and enjoy the day as a family: Because we did this pretty much all day Saturday Charlie took Brendan and Carter out for a day with Daddy. They love it. They went down to the river beach and looked for rocks (Brendan's current obsession). I enjoyed a quiet afternoon at home with Ethan.

All in all a good weekend I would say! What about you?
