Flashback Friday

A couple weeks ago my computer crashed and we just recently got a replacement computer thanks to my awesome inlaws who gave us one of their "extras". It took a lot of work but Charlie was able to save all our pictures but they are really unorganized so I'll be working on that fun job for awhile. It is fun though to look back at all the old pictures. As I was working on it last night I thought I'd share a few of Charlie and I from the "early" years before kids along with our story for all you new to the blog.

Charlie and I went to the same church through Jr. High and High school but because of our 5 year age gap we didn't run in the same circles. We had a few mutual connections but we were both in very different worlds. In high school I worked at a coffee shop/bookstore owned by our church and for those who don't know Charlie he is an avid coffee drinker so this is where our story begins. Charlie noticed me working at the coffee shop and I noticed him a little since he was in several times a day. But at the time I was young, probably dating a loser, and not quite paying much attention to the handsome guy coming in to get his "coffee" fix. He mentioned his interest to a co-worker of mine and she just laughed it off and said it would never work. Funny how things turn out. After graduating high school I decided I was going to go to college far far away. Pretty normal teenage stuff right? Well the Christian college I picked was great but not on the cheap side and I don't come from a well-off family so I only lasted about 2 terms before realizing that I could go to a cheaper community college for all my basic classes. So I reluctantly came back home and it wasn't long before I moved out of my parents home found a house to live in with some gals. It just so happened that the circle of friends I was now in was also a circle of friends Charlie was in. We were reintroduced and immediately clicked. It wasn't long before we were crazy in love dating and about 6 months later engaged and married 6 months after that. I knew I couldn't let this guy get away! He was a keeper! God is so awesome. During a really messed up time in my family's life He gave me Charlie and Charlie's love and devotion really got me through the tough times. He still does. I honestly don't know where I'd be if God didn't bring Charlie into my life. I don't even want to think about it! I am so blessed every day to be his wife.

Love you Charlie!! xoxox
