Some ramblings...

Hello! I have just a bit while both little ones are napping (rarely happens these days) so I thought I'd make myself a cup of coffee and write a little on this ol' blog of mine. I'm trying to be more purposeful in my blogs. Don't get me wrong, I love love love to post pictures of my family and all the fun we have. But sometimes I just have to write and see what comes out.

Lets see...like I said in the previous post I am very very excited about this coming year. I have a feeling that there are going to be some really awesome things happening. I wish I could write about it but not just yet. As soon as I can I promise I will! No, no babies in 2012. Strange to think about..we had Brendan in 2006, Carter in 2008, and Ethan in 2010. 2012 will be so empty without a new baby! Oh well. Maybe we'll shoot for 2014? Have to work on the hubby a little bit though.

I'm not a big resolution person but its always nice at the start of fresh year to evaluate and make changes in ones life. I could say I want to eat better, exercise more, lose weight but even though those are in the back of my mind they aren't my main focus. I do hope to make it to the gym more this year than the last. I have to say the last few months of the year were super hard for me. I don't know, maybe a little bit of lingering baby blues but it was just super hard for me to stay on top of the house and maintain some sort of social life. I either did one or the other and neither very well I have to say. I hope to do better this year. I'm feeling more motivation and energy so hoping it lasts.

I have to be honest and say that MOMS has been hard for me so far. I'm not a super outgoing social person so it takes a lot for me to step out in a leadership role, even a small one. Its been up and down, and I have to say mostly down but I am praying and holding out that the last half of the year will be better than the first. I have a lot of walls built up and those need to come down. So pray for me will you? if you think of it. I want to be a blessing to those at my table and also to other ladies in leadership. :)

One of my resolutions is to read more! I LOVE reading. Growing up you'd never ever see me without a book nearby. Of course as you grow up, reading turns into homework, and then finally you have a family and who has the time?? I got a Kindle Fire from my wonderful inlaws for Christmas and its fun to have so many great books (for cheap!) at my fingertips. The only problem is that my resolution to read more clashes with my resolution to go to bed at a decent hour. Oh man. SO hard. I am a total night owl. Always have been but more so now that I have no time to myself during the day. I crave my night hours when the kids and hubby are all in bed :) So that is when I get to read...which means staying up til 2 am to finish a book. Not good, not good. So I'm going to do my best to have moderation in both reading and sleeping. I'm sure with enough discipline I can enjoy both equally.

Sigh, this coffee is so good! But I hear a little one making some noise so I have to say adios for now. If your out there reading and have any questions, suggestions, things you want me to blog about send them to me! I need ideas!!

And since I can't post a blog without at least one cute kiddo here are some funny ones Charlie took of Brendan and Carter....
