For me sewing comes in waves of inspiration and moviation. I get on a project and work work work until its done and then I stop for awhile. The last project I worked on was a quilt for my niece who was born back in May. Still haven't finished it but I picked up the last few things I needed last weekend at a good sale so it will be done soon! All I needed was the batting and I'm ready now to sew it all together!
I've been racking my brain trying to think of a Christmas present/baby present for a faraway friend who is due Christmas Day with her 4th baby, a little girl. Its hard when its the 2nd, 3rd, 4th child because they already have everything they need. But I got inspired by some fabric and decided to try my hand at making custom burp cloths out of cloth diapers. I realized that I have a lot of the fabric left so I think I'm going to try to throw together a quick little crib quilt too to match. I decided this at about 11pm last night and for the next 2 hours I was measuring, calculating, and cutting out squares. I'm happy I have enough to make a small blanket. It'll be simple but cute and a nice addition to the burp cloths. Nothing fancy but I'm still pretty new to the sewing world so its a challenge for me :)
