This is Sally, our new kitten. Isn't she totally adorable? I'm not the only girl in the house anymore. Yay! We share a special bond for sure.
Well, I did it! I convinced Charlie to try having a pet again. Back when we were dating/early married we had 2 black cats. They were our early babies but things changed when we brought Brendan home from the hospital. Lets just say our cats were less than thrilled with their new brother and displayed their disapproval in many ways. In the end, we chose to give up our cats and we haven't attempted pets since. Well, we had a fish but that didn't last very long either. We have been busy enough with our 3 boys so the thought of having a pet was way too much for us the past 6 years. Charlie and I are both not fans of dogs in general, but we do have a soft spot for a sweet kitty. I knew we'd get one eventually.....
My brother James has a sweet cat that ended up pregnant and gave birth to 6 sweet kittens back in May. After a bit of convincing I was able to persuade Charlie to adopt one of the kittens. We were all so excited! Sally was one of 2 females in the litter and had a bit of a rough start. She was the smallest and mommy cat decided to give more attention to the other 5. She also had some sort of inflammation in her neck that cause her head to tilt. James took her to the vet and got her some ear drops and some supplemental kitty formula to help her grow and get better. She is doing great now! Definitely on the smaller side but she fits right in with our family and we are happy to have her :)
The boys just love her and we're trying to teach them not to love her toooo much :) She spends a lot of time hiding in our couch most of the day but each day she has spent more and more time out and around the kids. Soon she'll know that they are harmless (mostly).
