A few weeks before Christmas the children's director and friend of mine asked us if Brendan would like to help out at our church Christmas Eve service. She had a few kids in mind to help with the candle lighting. Brendan of course said yes and was very excited. Its so crazy to see him growing up and helping out as a "big kid". He did a wonderful job even though I think he was a little nervous at first.
The service was beautiful and a wonderful way to focus on the real reason we celebrate Christmas. I got all teary eyed at the end when we sang Silent Light with our candles. I am overwhelmed by God's love for me even when I don't deserve one drop of it. Having kids of my own has made His sacrifice even more meaningful as well. I can't imagine giving up any of my kids for anyone else. To know that He allowed his precious Son to be born knowing that he would have to die to save a sinful world is incomprehensible. I hope you all had a very blessed Christmas focusing on God's Love for us!
