We are not big on Halloween here but do like to let the kids dress up and get some candy in a safe, low key environment. This year we tried out "trick or treating" at a local downtown shopping area. The kids enjoyed going to all the shops and getting a few pieces of candy and there were a few houses nearby who were also giving out candy. That was their first real experience with going to houses. It was fun to watch and a little embarrassing as they would start to enter the house once knocking and waiting for their treat. First timers..... we'd explain....as we reminded them AGAIN to just stay on the porch! Guess we need a little more practice. After a quick dinner and a trip to visit grandma we took them to a church harvest party to play games and get some more candy! :) What a busy fun night!
