Sharing is Caring

When Ethan was in the NICU I had to pump a lot to keep my supply up and also wanted to have plenty of milk for bottles in case he didn't ever get the hang of breastfeeding. Thankfully, for my sanity, he did get the hang of breastfeeding and I didn't have to continue to pump and bottle feed. Wow, I must be super lazy but I just couldn't do it. I got him off the bottles ASAP and I'm so glad I did. I don't know how women work and pump for their baby. I am not surprised many of them give up and just switch to formula. Anyways, I had a lot of milk in the freezer taking up room that I knew we would never use all of it. Occasionally it was nice to have some for date night but I had over 100 oz I think and that was way too much. Thankfully our hospital just got certified to collect milk for a milk bank in California, Mother's Milk Bank. It was so easy, I just filled out some paperwork and had it signed by my dr. and Ethan's. Then I did a blood test and once I was approved I just took my frozen milk to the hospital and they took care of the rest. Ethan even got a super cute shirt! Glad we could help out other families whos babies need the milk more than we did!
