The nights are busy at the NICU, every four hours we woke Ethan up to check his temp, his blood sugar, change his diaper and feed him. The nurses are all so nice and take really good care of my Ethan. Other than being woken up many times a night, Ethan slept very well. He is so sweet and mellow.
On his 4th day of being in the NICU the dr. decided to move his glucose IV that was in his bellybutton to his arm. They call it a PICC Line. Its a much better and safer place to have an IV for a longer period of time. They did it in his room but I had to leave during the process. Poor little guy, so many pokes and tubes and wires. His heels are the worst. So many blood sugar checks :( Still can't keep his levels up and that is really stumping the dr.
On a happier note I spent a few hours with the rest of our small family for an early Christmas. We had originally planned on going to a Christmas Eve Eve service at church and dinner out but decided with the short time we had we just skipped church and enjoyed dinner out and presents at home. Until I got my own pump, I really couldn't be away for more than four hours. Gotta keep that supply up! Anyways, it was really nice to connect again with Brendan and Carter. They enjoyed all their presents!
