We were so blessed to have some time to visit with our dear dear friends from up north (the Clemens family) this holiday season. We know that they are always super busy visiting family and friends so the little bits of time we get with them are truly cherished. We got to have them over for dinner and I also got to spend a few hours with Sarah and the kids before they headed home. We had the bright idea of letting the older 2 kids put together a gingerbread house. I've never ever made one before and thought it would be a lot of fun! I picked up a kit a couple days ahead of time but never bothered to look at it until right before we wanted to put it together. I didn't know that you had to make the frosting and put together the main house and let it set for quite awhile. We were very short on time so we let it sit for as long as we could before letting the kids just go for it with sprinkles and candies. Needless to say the house did NOT stay up very long. The kids didn't care...they just wanted to decorate and enjoy the sugar! Next year I'll definitely plan it out a little bit better...maybe I'll start with some graham crackers and canned frosting :)
Brendan and Sammie Jo (so far so good!)
The final result
Beautiful Sammie Jo
Brendan and Sammie enjoying their masterpiece
Carter thinks it looks pretty good too!
