Hey everyone! Noticed I hadn't posted a new blog in a bit. I've been pretty busy as of the last 2 weeks. I've been working at my new, temporary job with the Census. I had 30 hours of training and started my first week last Monday. Its been great so far and I'm extremely thankful to God for bringing this by at such a perfect time. I was called right before Easter to start the training and it actually turns out that I was called with a group of people for a 2nd round of training to replace some people from the 1st round that dropped out for various reasons. I am so glad they didn't call me for the 1st round! I would have had to turn it down because the training and job started sometime in Feb/March I believe. Because of our busy month of birthdays and our trip to Disneyland I wouldn't have been able to do this job. God is so amazing! A week after getting the call to start training my boss from my other job called me and told me that due to the bad economy they had to let me go temporarily. They are hoping when companies start the hiring process again they'll be able to hire me back.
When I took the test for the job back in December I had no idea when all this would take place or if it would at all. We just prayed about it and trusted that God would bring it if it was His will and in His timing. And boy did He ever! It is so nice to have this chance to work a little, save a little, and besides that its just a fun and new experience! We don't know how long it will go, at first they told us 6-8 weeks but people are working so fast it might be done in the next week or so. It doesn't matter to me. I'm just thankful for the job, no matter how short it is.
Charlie and I are doing really well financially and are so thankful for all our blessings. Back in November we decided to get rid of our debt and stick to a budget and build up our savings. We were inspired by Dave Ramsey. We saw him live and Charlie was so inspired that he sold our big screen TV during an intermission break. In the 6 months since we started this journey we are debt free (except our house) and are tithing, saving and sticking to our budget. We may not have much, we may not drive the nicest, newest cars. but we are debt free and that feels pretty darn good. We want to be a good steward of what God blesses us with and also be a good example to our kids.
Thats it! Thats whats in my head tonight :)
