Solo Zoo Trip

With our tax return this year we had plenty of money for fun stuff so one of the things we bought was a membership to the Zoo and Children's Museum. Last year I went to the zoo with my friend who has a membership which was so nice but I wanted to be able to go on my own this summer. It was hard with her work schedule to coordinate a good day for both of us. Now I can go anytime! Yesterday was a sunny day so I thought I'd try to go on my own. It was a learning experience doing it by myself. Poor Carter wasn't in the best of moods so that didn't help. He was not happy to sit in the stroller and it was a little difficult carrying him and pushing the stroller and chasing Brendan. We had fun though and Brendan sure loves the animals! Except for the birds....as you can see in the pictures below.....
There is a area where you can buy a little cup of nectar and feed the birds. Well, Brendan was scared of them. But can you blame him? they were flying all around, squaking and for a little guy that can be a little scary. I held the juice cup and the birds loved it. Carter was loving it too! He was the happiest he had been all day when he could see the birds. He even tried to pet one of them on the tail.

All in all it was fun experience and I will become a pro soon! I can also take a guest for free so if anyone wants to join me sometime...
